The SA342M Gazelle is a sleek two-seat helicopter and the lightest of the eleven you find rather than build, and it flies like it — quick and eager. The pilot sits on the left.

Variants

Two seats and the rear bench

From v0.4.8 the Gazelle seats two: the pilot and the co-pilot. Nobody fits on the slim rear bench, so it carries the helicopter’s equipment instead, shown on the cushions: a fuel drum, a repair kit, a spare battery and a radio. Together with the first-aid kit that makes five equipment mounts. The rear doors are still there.

Doors open in order

On the real Gazelle the rear doors are blocked by the front ones, and the mod copies that:

• The rear left door will only open once the front left door is open (or has been taken off the aircraft)
• The rear right door will only open once the front right door is open (or has been taken off)

If the front door on that side is shut, the rear door simply gives you no open action. Closing a rear door always works. Each seat also needs its own door open before anyone can get in or out of it.

Door item classnames

Each colour variant has its own set of door classnames — add the livery to the end, for example CZ_SA342M_Pilot_TigerMeet or CZ_SA342M_Cargo1_GreenBrownBlackWoodland.

Chin Camera

The pilot or co-pilot can look through the camera sight with J: day, night vision and thermal, zoom up to 40x, and lock onto a point on the ground. The sight turns left and right with you, and other players see it move. The seat flying the aircraft needs Auto Hover or the autopilot on. See Chin Camera.
