## Cabin Mode & Free Walk

Three systems allow players to move freely inside a moving helicopter:

**Cabin Mode** (UH-1H, MH-60L Blackhawk) — the pilot or co-pilot exits their cockpit seat outward by default. Cabin Mode provides an alternative: use the **Move to Cabin** action to leave the cockpit and walk freely inside the cabin with full WASD, weapon use, and ADS. **Return to Cockpit** puts them straight back. Server owners can disable it globally via `features.cabinModeEnabled = 0` in `mod_config.json`.

**Seat Exit Free Walk** (UH-1H, MH-60L, AW101 Merlin) — cabin passenger seats on the UH-1H and Blackhawk exit into the enclosed interior via the standard DayZ "Get Out" action; players link to the aircraft automatically. On the AW101 Merlin this applies to **all seats including pilot and co-pilot** — the entire fuselage is enclosed, so Get Out always places the player inside. The rear ramp must be open to actually disembark.

**Walk-On Linking** (UH-1H, MH-60L, MH-6 Little Bird, AW101 Merlin) — stepping onto the rear cabin opening, the MH-6's external side bench platform, or the Merlin's rear ramp area automatically links a player to the aircraft. They travel with it until they step off. No action required.

See [Cabin Mode](/features/cabin-mode) for full details on all three systems.

## Core Features at a Glance

* **CarScript-based flight model** — native `CarScript` base for native persistence and broad mod compatibility, with force/kinematic physics and smooth 1.28-style handling.
* **Physics-based flight** — each aircraft has unique mass, drag and control feel.
* **Autohover** — `X` locks a stable hover (holds altitude, heading and position).
* **Co-pilot control priority** — only one cockpit seat holds flight control; `T` hands it over, and it passes automatically if the holder leaves or dies.
* **Full controller support** — fly entirely on a gamepad; every binding is rebindable.
* **In-game admin panel** (`F10`) — teleport, repair, refuel, reset, delete, repair-all, reload configs live, map view, role-based permissions.
* **6 damage zones** — Body, Engine, Chassis, Fuel, Main Rotor, Tail Rotor; each toggleable per server, with wreck fire.
* **Autorotation** — engine-off rotor-inertia glide for a controlled emergency landing.
* **Battery, repair, fuel & refuelling** — HelicopterBattery to start, HelicopterRepairKit to fix, refuel by jerry can or at a working fuel station.
* **Cargo** — built-in storage plus up to 10 extra 1,000-slot modules per helicopter.
* **HUD, fuel warnings, activity logging, and config backup on update.**

See **[Features](/features/overview)** for the full breakdown of every system.

## Mod Compatibility

CZ Autoz helicopters are **fully standalone — no Community Framework (CF) or any other framework is required**. Each integration below is **optional** and auto-detected, activating only when that mod is also loaded:

* **DayZ Expansion** — registered as Expansion vehicles; respected by safe zones, routed through Expansion damage/explosion, persisted via ModStorage.
* **MuchCarKey** — lock/unlock, key assignment, owner name, optional key-to-start.
* **TraderPlus CarLock** — password lock/unlock menu, attach/detach, lockpicking, lock sounds.
* **VPP Admin Tools** — the `/refuel` command fully repairs, refuels and maxes every damage zone.
* **RaG Core** — enter/exit, door, deletion and weapon-hit events written to RaG's vehicle log.
* **Community Online Tools (COT)** — appear in the vehicle manager, spawn with correct doors, included in bulk delete.
* **Push** — the vanilla push action works on a grounded helicopter, scaled per variant.

## Configuration

All helicopter settings are generated as editable JSON on first server start at `$profile:\CZAutoz_Heli\` — one file per variant (19 total) plus `mod_config.json` for global settings. Every value is documented in **[Server Config](/server-config/quick-start)**.
